STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Gym budget template: questions worth asking.

What should a gym budget include?

Income from memberships, personal training, casual visits and retail, and expenses including rent, wages, superannuation, equipment, cleaning, marketing, utilities, software and insurance. The template includes each of these and you can rename the lines.

How do I calculate gym churn?

Divide the month's cancellations by the members you had at the start of the month. The template works this out from your KPI entries.

Is the superannuation rate right?

The super rate is an editable assumption. Check the current superannuation guarantee rate with the ATO and your accountant.
